Over the years, I have continued to tend and nurture my creative muse through music, visual art and teaching. In the early 80's, I graduated with a three-year diploma in Visual Arts from David Thompson University Centre, an extension of Selkirk College in Nelson, B.C.

I traded my paint brushes for a guitar in the '90's and embraced song writing and performing as a more direct way of sharing my world with others. I have always thought of my songs as musical pictures and continue to write, record and perform solo and as part of a trio called Frida’s Brow.

A few years ago I moved from Ottawa to Almonte, a small town 40 minutes west of the city. My daily walks on the edge of town, a closer relationship with the natural world and a greater sense of 'space' at all levels led me back to painting. In my re-emergence as a painter, I have found the natural world to be the best teacher on many levels.

I work in acrylic on top of a coloured ground on canvas or board, playing with negative and positive space and layering colour. I like to flirt with both a 2-D graphic quality as well as depth of field in the same work.

Having recently made the decision to devote more time to painting, I work in a studio under the town clock in downtown Almonte.

It gives me great pleasure to share my ideas with you.
