'Water' at CUBE Gallery, Ottawa
A well-attended 'meet the artists' at CUBE Gallery's 'Water' show in Ottawa, April 8 - May 17, 2009. Though a bit of an introvert, I look forward to these opportunities to be able to meet the public as well as other artists who spend a good deal of time alone with their muses. Conversations are short and usually intense. Gallery owner Don Monet put on a nice spread and manages to create a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Live music seems to add that celebratory mood and breaks the 'quiet' ice that is often found in a gallery environment. The work that stood out for me was that of Victoria Wonnacott, Gordon Wallace, Janet Moore and Norman Takeuchi. Short conversations with them left me wanting more.

hey the picture on this blog page is really really slow to display. maybe it should be a smaller file or something
Thanks for the link to Victoria Wonnacott's work. Congratulations on the show. It looked, from my vantage point in front of the computer screen, like a show I would have really enjoyed witnessing in person.
